Ashleigh Walters

Artist Ashleigh Walters delights in elevating objects and landscapes that tell a story. Ashleigh is a painter, maker, and manipulator of oddly-scaled objects who lives in South Florida. Having spent her professional career as both a journalist and artist, Ashleigh has found what can be viewed as ordinary or comforting to one person can be seen as exotic or unusual to another: the labels on jars, the signs on buildings, the style of a season’s designer shoe. At the University of Colorado at Boulder, Ashleigh received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting, a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast News Journalism, and a Minor in Business Administration. She has been fortunate to live in the intriguing landscapes of Los Angeles, Denver, and South Carolina before arriving in Florida. Her artwork has been featured prominently in a variety of publications, juried shows, galleries, on-air news stories and commercials. Ashleigh celebrates the beauty of humanity, the texture in daily life, and the ties that bind us all together.
